Defined Tag:
Stencil painting, one of the four major processes of printing, is the art of transiting single or manifold patterns onto the underlying fascia of an object, or the wall of a room, using paint. Stencil painting has fast gained popularity for graffiti, since stencil art using spray-paints can be fashioned promptly and effortlessly, traits indispensable for graffiti artists where stenciling is illegal or quasi-legal. Stencils are extensively used for decorating walls, furniture, fabrics, tin, leather and almost any other surface.

Stencil painting in various colors is the easiest way to decorate any room in your home. Stencils come in a variety of shapes from the simple geometric forms to elaborate sceneries. High-quality stencils can even reproduce famous paints and designs. So if you are looking to create something artistic and unique, you might try your hand at stencil painting. There is a very good chance that you will get paint on your clothes and shoes, so wear old clothes. You may also want to wear gloves to protect your hands.

Selecting the correct paint for stenciling a particular surface can be difficult and confusing, as certain surfaces demand the use of specific paints. There are some paints that require a special nozzle be used to paint downwards. Each type of paint has its own unique characteristics. For instance, liquid acrylics which come in a wide variety of colors are inexpensive and dry quickly. On the other hand, stencil crèmes are easier to blend, more expensive, dry slowly, and do not cause drip problems.

Make sure you pick colors that will blend well. The paint needs to remain wet if the colors are to be blended well. Adding blending gel to the paint helps extend drying time, while enhancing the colors blending capacity. If you want to use complimentary colors in one opening on a stencil, apply the first color and allow it to dry, then dab the second color. This will avoid any blending. Stencil painting does not have to be done only by pens or stencil brushes, in some cases, you can use a spray-paint instead.
